PREVIEW: Cowdenbeath v Clyde

Fri, 6th Apr 2018 8:01pm

For the second time recently, Clyde will travel to Central Park tomorrow to take on Cowdenbeath in Ladbrokes League 2.

Both teams have a lot to play for again, with The Bully Wee aiming for a shock fourth place finish and The Blue Brazil trying to escape bottom spot.

For Clyde, Kevin Nicoll will miss out as he serves a one-match suspension for accumulated points.

Speaking to the official website this evening, Danny Lennon was clear that another big performance was required to get a crucial win:-

"The last encounter at Cowdenbeath was very sticky and it's always a difficult place to go to. I thought they did well especially in the first half, but what was very pleasing was that we did the less glamorous side of the game equally well. When we could play, we did so, and we have to do all of those things again tomorrow.

"You always want to bounce back well after a defeat. I think it certainly showed last Saturday in terms of the amount of games we've had in a short period of time. The squad have trained at a good intensity this week, but with a bit less demand on them. Some of the players who haven't been starting recently also got a full match for the under-20s, so it was a good week overall and we've recovered well.

"The players have created an amazing turnaround since the start of the year and it's now going to come down to who can sprint the hardest to the finish line. The league is very much alive in terms of things to play for and Cowdenbeath won't have given up on catching the teams above them."

Clyde supporters will be accommodated in the Old Stand at Central Park. Entry is via the High Street turnstiles. Admission prices are; adults £12, concessions (over 65 and under 16) £6. Photographic ID may be requested for anyone using the concession gate.
