PREVIEW: Clyde v Cowdenbeath

Fri, 16th Feb 2018 2:57pm

The Bully Wee will take on Cowdenbeath at home tomorrow in Ladbrokes League 2.

Due to a previous postponement, it's only the second meeting of the clubs so far this season, following a 1-1 draw at Broadwood in September.

For Clyde, Tom Lang is expected to be available after being removed as a precaution at half-time at Berwick last week. However, Jordan Stewart is doubtful due to a kidney infection.

Jack Breslin, Max Wright and Steve Kipre are all ruled out as they recover from injuries.

Matt Flynn, a long-term absentee due to an abdominal problem, received some better news this week after seeing another specialist, meaning that he could be facing a shorter recovery period after surgery.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website today, following a successful Q&A event at Broadwood last night:-

"It went very well and I enjoyed it. There was a good turnout and it's always nice to get a view from the fans. I always feel that a manager is the closest link between what's going on behind the scenes and the access that supporters have, so having a close link is very important.

"Since Gary (Bollan) took over, Cowdenbeath have improved; maybe not in overall results yet, but they have had a lot of very tight matches that haven't gone their way. He's trying to make them more solid, which is sensible in terms of building a platform and we went through a similar process at the beginning.

"It's going to be difficult as they will be fighting for survival, but we will take confidence from our good run of form and the quality we have brought in to enhance our squad. It's an opportunity at home to put another very valuable three points on the board.

"The players have brought in a siege mentality now and they are in a good place at the moment. As I keep saying, it's not just about the guys that have got the jerseys at the moment, it's also the guys on the bench and in the stand that are all playing a part. We have a whole squad of boys that are putting in a lot of effort to get the club going in the right direction."
