PREVIEW: Stenhousemuir v Clyde

Fri, 3rd Nov 2017 3:58pm

The Bully Wee will take on Stenhousemuir at Ochilview tomorrow in the latest match in Ladbrokes League 2.

It's the second meeting of the teams so far this season, with the first match at Broadwood in August ending in a 1-1 draw. The Warriors enjoyed a win at league leaders Stirling Albion last weekend and are in touching distance at the top end of the table.

For Clyde, Kevin Nicoll is suspended and he'll be joined in the stand by the injured pair of Kieran Duffie (hip) and Scott Ferguson (hamstring).

However, Jack Breslin returns to the squad and David Gormley is in contention to feature, after turning out for the under-20s last week and coming through training this week with no reaction. Under-20 midfielder Lewis Warnock has also been added to the squad.

Tony McNally spoke to the official website this afternoon, at the end of a busy week for the interim manager:-

"It's been a difficult situation for the club this week and circumstances have led to me taking charge," he said. "I have to say that the players' application at training and attitude in general has been first class.

"We've tried to make it as enjoyable as possible for the boys this week and told them just to get on with their jobs. There's no doubt that they are good enough to get a result tomorrow if they apply what they've done this week into the game.

"I know a lot of the players well from my time at the club so far. Although I haven't been involved with the first team directly, I've been close to what's happening and we've also had a few of the squad involved in our under-20 matches. They are a great group to work with.

"We've got a few ideas and we'll make a few changes. Scoring goals hasn't been a problem so far, but the defensive side has. We worked on that last night and we've got a gameplan to take to Stenhousemuir tomorrow."
