Squad Update

Jim Chapman has given a player update to the official website, following the start of pre-season training at the weekend.

With the situation of each member of last season’s squad now almost finalised, the Clyde manager confirmed that offers have been made to Scott Linton and Connor Quinn. He said:-

“Scott’s fitness was assessed at Hampden recently and that was positive. We have made him an offer, but it’s a change for him, to fit with the management of the club’s needs, finance and risk. At the moment it’s with Scott to make a decision on that and consider any other options he might have.

“He’s been fantastic with me during our discussions and we of course respect his own personal situation with regards to the offer. As a club, we have to consider our overall position, but the door is open to Scott.

“We have also made an offer to Connor and it’s now up to him to weigh up his options over the next few days.”

In terms of recruitment, Jim continued:-

“We have targets and we’re talking to a lot of people, but the process will continue right up until the end of August. I’m not going to panic or rush. The recruitment has got to be right and every penny we commit has to be well spent.

“Application and attitude is the one thing we can’t coach and that’s paramount to our strategy for the squad.”
