Lowdon Ruled Out of Early Return

Mon, 10th Apr 2017 7:47pm

It's been confirmed that Jordan Lowdon, who suffered a cruciate knee injury in August, will not be able to feature for The Bully Wee again this season.

The full back was potentially hoping to return to action before the end of the 2016-17 campaign, but after having a setback in his recovery, has now been ruled out of contention.

Joint interim manager, JP McGovern said: "Jordan is ok, but very frustrated and disappointed that he won't be able to get involved in the run-in. He is due to see his surgeon again soon and we will know more again after that."

As expected, Dylan Easton, who suffered the same injury in September, will also be unable to play any part in the remaining matches. Scott Linton is another man sidelined until the summer due to a groin injury, as reported recently.

Two other players that have been forced to miss more recent matches are Ross Perry and Connor Quinn. Perry is having further tests on a hamstring injury, with Quinn struggling due to a groin tear and currently estimated to be out for three to four weeks.

Jordan McMillan missed Saturday's match against Annan Athletic because of illness, but is expected to resume training with the squad this week.

Finally, goalkeeper John Gibson is managing a pelvic complaint but has been able to feature in matchday squads and continues to play an active part in training, including a coaching role.

McGovern was keen to praise the contribution of physio Nicole Logan in recent weeks:-

"Nicole has been working really hard to get players ready to play again, with a lot of care and attention, and we're thankful for that. We have detailed plans for players coming back and it's important that we get that right."
