Princess Ceejay Fund

Earlier this week, the club was informed of the birth of its newest fan, Ceejay Smith, who is the daughter of Sheila Smith and lifelong Clyde supporter Zander Campbell.

Zander attends all Clyde FC matches home and away with his sons Jardin, Jay and Beckham.

Ceejay was born on the 20th of June and diagnosed with holes in her heart. Four days later, she was diagnosed with Edwards Syndrome which sadly, in time, will take her precious life.

Following receipt of this news, first team manager Barry Ferguson and club director Bobby Gracey attended the Southern General Hospital to meet with Ceejay and to offer the club’s full support with her daily battle.

Bobby said: “As soon as we heard about Ceejay’s story, we wanted to meet with her and her family to ensure they were aware they had the full backing of the club, including from all of our playing staff. It was a real honour to meet Ceejay and we all hope she can grow stronger every day and can make it along to a game this season as our special guest.

“I hope as many people within and around the club will support the family and assist with their fundraising efforts.”

Following the visit, the club received the following message from Zander and Sheila: “We are very grateful to Bobby and Barry for coming to visit Ceejay today and it will give us some good memories of Ceejay in the future.

“We would like to thank them for the signed Clyde top, it will be cherished forever along with the three home tops for our sons. Finally, we would like to thank Clyde FC for all of its support.”
