Barry Looks for Experience
Barry Ferguson has confirmed that he is working on a number of signing targets and hopes to have as many as four new players signed by this time next week.
With a relatively young squad at his disposal, Ferguson explained to the official website that he is looking to add experience to his pool of players. He said: “I am looking at bringing in a number of players that I have been chasing for a number of weeks. Hopefully I can get them over the line, if not before Saturday, by the start of next week.
“We are looking to bring in three or four players – I am a bit down the line with two of them just now and then hopefully I will add another couple. Hopefully we’ll have four new faces by this time next week.
“I need to bring in reinforcements and guys that have got experience – we have a young squad and they need a bit of experience round about them on the park, so that is what I am trying to add.”
The players were back on the training pitch last night and the manager was pleased with the attitude shown during the session, while he confirmed his brother, Derek, will continue to help out around the training pitch.
“Training was buzzing last night,” Barry continued. “The place was happy and that is the way we want it – the atmosphere was great and we had a good session.
“My brother wasn’t there last night but he has been coming in and helping out with sessions and that will continue. He has helped me a lot in my career and he is someone I can trust and trust is a big thing for me.”
