Jim Upbeat About Second Chance

Sun, 1st Dec 2013 2:46pm

Clyde manager Jim Duffy spoke to the media after yesterday's 1-1 draw with Stranraer in the William Hill Scottish Cup. He revealed that he was pleased with The Bully Wee's performance and also paid tribute to the visitors, for their part in an entertaining contest:-

"I thought we played very well and I also thought it was a terrific game, especially in the first half. We had some fantastic chances, Stranraer played some good football and Nik had some good saves.

"The goal we scored was magnificent, with a great cross and finish at the end of the move.

"The second half was evenly contested, Stranraer had a bit more of the ball but we were always a threat on the break. Understandably, we got a bit tired towards the end and I was a bit concerned about that, but we hung in there.

"I think we have to be satisfied with a draw; we were playing a team in the League One play-off zone and scoring a lot of goals. For us to be disappointed about not winning the match is a tribute to the players. Stranraer are a very good side, especially middle to front."

Jim also reacted strongly to any suggestion that Clyde's chance of progression had been lost with the home draw:-

"We'll roll our sleeves up and give it another go down at Stair Park. It'll be tough and they will rightly be favourites again, but we'll come out and give it our best shot."
