Clyde 0-3 Montrose

Sat, 28th Sep 2013 7:47pm

Three goals in 11 second half minutes consigned Clyde to their second consecutive home defeat at Broadwood this afternoon, as Montrose in the end cruised to a 3-0 victory.

In a display described post-match by Bully Wee boss Jim Duffy as "absolutely shocking", Clyde crashed to defeat after the Links Park side capitalised on poor defending.

After an even first half, in which Kevin Watt hit the bar from close range and also saw a diving header from a Ferguson cross narrowly miss, there was no sign of what was to come.

In the 50th minute, Montrose striker Garry Wood was given the time and space to fire home the first goal for the visitors.

Four minutes later, Gareth Rodger headed home unchallenged in the six yard box and the afternoon was sealed for the visitors as Scott Johnston fired the ball into the corner of the net in the 61st minute.

The Ganle Endies were then able to run out comfortable winners and left Broadwood in third place in League Two, as The Bully Wee sunk to ninth.
