PREVIEW: Clyde v Queen's Park

Fri, 30th Nov 2012 5:30pm

Clyde boss Jim Duffy spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk ahead of tomorrow's visit of Queen's Park and first focussed on last week's win at Annan...

"I was delighted with last Saturday’s performance and it was important to get three points on the board. There is no hiding from the fact that we were on a poor run of results and we needed to rectify that."

Turning his thoughts to this weekend's clash, Jim was in little doubt over the importance of the derby match...

"The results don’t lie. In a few of those matches we have been unfortunate or contributed to our own downfall but at other times we can have no complaints and Queen's Park were worthy winners. We need to turn that around on Saturday. Once more that will require us to be focussed for the full 90 minutes and match Queen's in all areas of the park - and convert those chances when they arrive.

"Team wise, David Marsh is suspended and doubts remain over Gavin Brown (groin) and Michael Oliver (tonsilitis).

"It is important for us to get on a run of form and build a momentum. This division is so tight that a few victories in quick succession can transform your league placing and help us to look up the way rather than worrying about who is below us."

The day promises to be a busy time off the park too, with a number of activities planned.

At 2.45pm, Clyde Powerchair FC will be presented with the Powerchair Scottish Cup while at half-time, popular Clyde midfielder Richie McCusker will be presented with his championship winning top from 99-00 by supporter Paul Paterson.

The day will be completed by community teams from Clyde and Queen's Park participating in shoot-out competition.

So arrive early, enjoy the day and back The Bully Wee!
