Haddock to Join Hall of Fame
Preparations are ongoing ahead of the club’s annual Hall of Fame Dinner, which is taking place on Friday 9th November at the Strathclyde Hilton.
Club director and event organiser, David MacPherson, has informed the official website that a third entry will be made to the club’s Hall of Fame on the evening. Harry Haddock will become the first posthumous induction, with his family in attendance to mark the occasion. Haddock featured in over 500 matches for The Bully Wee and lifted the Scottish Cup twice; in 1955 and 1958 (pictured on the homepage). He also collected six Scotland caps and is undoubtedly one of the club’s all time greats.
Harry passed away in 1998, aged 73.
As previously announced, former manager Craig Brown, who managed the club for nine years, and Harry Hood, who scored almost a goal in every two matches during six years’ service for The Bully Wee in the ’60s, will also be inducted.
They will join last year’s inaugural entrants, The Dunn Family, Tommy McCulloch, Davie Laing, George Herd and Pat Nevin.
David was also pleased to announce that the Strathclyde Hilton would not only be hosting the event, but sponsoring it as well.
Tickets are available at £500 for a table of ten, with a discounted rate of £450 open to all CIC owners. Bookings can be made through the Clyde Office or via the commercial department at commercial@clydefc.co.uk.
