PREVIEW: Clyde v East Stirling

Sat, 11th Feb 2012 6:10am

Clyde boss Jim Duffy was under no illusions for the task facing the Bully Wee at Broadwood this weekend in the IRN-BRU Third Division match against East Stirling:

"East Stirling have improved a lot of late and will be desperate to make amends after their last trip to Broadwood. Equally, we have not been very creative in our recent games and found goals harder to come by so it will be a tough game and clearly what I want is a decent performance."

Consistency in selection has been a problem for the Bully Wee recently with injuries and player departures taking their toll. And it was mixed news for Jim for the latest match: "Gavin Brown is nearing a full return but he has been out a while so we need to appreciate that. Declan Gallagher remains out and, despite recovering from a knock sustained in a recent bounce game, Jason Marr may miss out through illness."

East Stirlingshire manager John Coughlin highlighted the last match between the sides:

"When we played Clyde at Ochilview just before Christmas we were only seconds away from victory and were denied the three points due to an injury-time goal. We have lost one of our last four games and ten of the starting eleven have been the same for all four," said Coughlin. "We have only now reached the stage where we are happy with a settled team and they are starting to produce for us. So while I like to think that we have put that 7-1 defeat behind us we should not lose sight of what happened the last time we played at Broadwood and should use it as a motivating factor to help us win the game."

After sub-zero temperatures earlier in the week, milder conditions in the last few nights look set to enable the Bully Wee to get back into league action today. Any concerns will be relayed via the usual sources of text, twitter and the website homepage.
