Southside School Achieves Quality Mark

Clyde’s Glasgow Southside School of Football has achieved the SFA Quality Mark Standard Award. The school received formal recognition of this achievement when their certificate was formally presented by Stewart Regan, the Chief Executive of the SFA at a recent ceremony at Hampden Park.

The Quality Mark recognises that the coaching provided at the Southside School is of an appropriate quality and that the School is properly managed and administered. Whilst the award reflects the   marvellous work carried out by Stevie Morton and all of his coaches, someone had to undertake the task of pulling together all the documentation and submitting it to the SFA. One of the coaches, Robert Sweeney, ‘volunteered’ for this task and the Club is grateful to Robert for this. He is now talking about putting together a submission for the next stage of the Quality Mark – the Development Award – so the good work continues.

The award shows the commitment of the Club to providing ‘quality’ coaching within the community. Our Cumbernauld School of Football already has the SFA Quality Mark Development Award and is working toward the third stage – the Community Award.

Our league position may be that of a club in the lower echelons of Scottish League Football. In terms of providing football in the community, we are up there with the best.
