Jim Duffy spoke to the official website this afternoon on the eve of the Bully Wee’s home tie with East Stirlingshire...
"We have a full squad available and that does mean that Pat Scullion is back and we are delighted for him. He is a good guy in and around the dressing room and he has done well for us since arriving at the club. Pat admitted himself that because he hadn't been playing he wasn't at the necessary levels of fitness when he arrived but he has worked hard."
Pat, however, is not guaranteed to get back in the starting XI especially at centre back...
"Pat did well at centre back but now we have Declan Gallacher and Brian McQueen putting together a decent partnership. I'm not in a rush to break that up. Declan and Brian are young and are learning. Sure, they will make mistakes but that is all part of the learning process and it is important that we give the players a chance to develop and continue their education."
Good performances away from home against Elgin and Stranraer have not been matched at home as the last two matches at Broadwood have seen victories for Queen's Park and Berwick Rangers..
"The bottom line is everybody loves coming to Broadwood. There are some places that people don’t like to go to, whether it's because of small dressing rooms or a bumpy playing surfaces but Broadwood is a really popular place for opposition teams to travel and play. The players need to adapt to that fact as it does minimise the advantage of playing at home.
"Without doubt, we are a high energy team and at times at Broadwood we need to put our foot on the ball and control the pace of the game more. Away from home we can be more conservative while at home the onus is on us to dictate and possibly we are not experienced or cute enough to do that to the same extent as other teams do.
"Having said all of that we are of course looking forward to the match and getting back into action after our enforced break. We want to build on our performance against Stranraer and work as hard as we can to try and get the three points against East Stirlingshire."
