Bully Wee Out and About

It maybe the close season but a busy weekend has just passed for Clyde FC. On Saturday, the club was invited to participate in the Supporters Direct Annual Conference at Hampden and was given the opportunity to raise awareness of the club’s new status in being a fully democratic club. The club also participated alongside SPL and SFL Chief Executives Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir, as well as Fraser Wishart of the SPFA, in a debate about the future of the game in Scotland.

On Sunday activities were less formal as the club attended this year’s Fun in the Park day in Cumbernauld’s Community Park. It was again a very popular day out and the Bully Wee’s inflatable soccer pitch proved once more to be a big hit with local kids. Information regarding this year’s season ticket offer was also distributed as people were happy to hear news of what was happening at Clyde.

Gordon Thomson, Community/Volunteering Director, commented, “As a club we’ve neglected events like this too often in the past and we are learning all the time. Hopefully we will improve in how we do things year by year. It’s important that the club gets out and about and it was good to speak to others today about the Bully Wee. Thanks are due to PMC Stewarding – who donated their services for free on the day – and Clyde supporters Allan Wilson, Derek Inglis, David Meldrum, Mark Thomson and John Taylor for volunteering to give the Bully Wee a presence on the busy day.
