New Appointments

Thursday’s 102nd A.G.M. confirmed the appointment of two new directors; Gary Ballantyne (pictured on homepage) and David MacPherson, who had both been co-opted to the board in November 2010.

Since joining the Board, both gents have been involved with fundraising. Gary is the lead for corporate fundraising – including matchday hospitality and shirt sponsorship – while David has been the lead for individual fundraisers and events such as the sportsman’s dinner.

Prior to the reorganisation of the club, Gary and David were both executive season ticket holders and were on the board of the Clyde Development Consortium.

Gary was one of the founder members of our successful annual golf event, which has continued to grow in strength. On home match days he assists to ensure that we provided a warm and friendly welcome to our visiting directors and guests within the boardroom environment.
 
Under Craig Brown’s stewardship Gary was once offered a trial for the Bully Wee, however a playing career with his boyhood heroes was not to be! Now, Gary is involved in everything commercial surrounding the club and is keen to build a dedicated team off the park to deliver the necessary finances that will sustain the club’s operation and future successes.

David is keen to get his teeth into his role in the board and no one is better qualified as since 2004 David has been the club’s dentist! David commented on his appointment that, as well as striving for professionalism and excellence in his career, he wants to be part of the team bringing these qualities to the club.

David also has considerable experience in sport as a whole, being a previous office bearer and ex-President of Scotland’s largest private members’ sports club, Whitecraigs Tennis and Sports Club. He’s also father to two international tennis starlets.
