Clyde Pitch In at Local Gala Day

Cumbernauld’s Community Park had it’s annual ‘Fun in the Park’ day today and the Bully Wee made its debut at the popular family event. Over 5000 visitors attended and Clyde FC played their part by introducing a new inflatable football arena, donated by the Supporters’ Trust.

The pitch was very well received by all the youngsters who showed their skills for the duration of the afternoon.

As well as providing the opportunity to play football, other volunteers chatted to the many members of the public who stopped at the Clyde’s stall to find out more about the Bully Wee and learn of the club’s new season ticket offer. Hundreds of leaflets were distributed, detailing the fantastic packages and offering many ways to make a purchase.

Director Gordon Thomson commented, “I was delighted that we were able to attend this event and we are extremely grateful for the help of the community park committee for their assistance during the day.

“It was great to see supporters working together to tell others about the club and my thanks go to all the volunteers including first team coach Gordon Wylde, the Supporters’ Trust who purchased various items for the day and not forgetting the Southside School of Football who allowed us to use their football equipment.

“The weather was kind and it was certainly a great day to kick-off our summer of community action.”
