Millar and Wylde Appointed

Tue, 27th Apr 2010 6:35pm

Clyde Football Club is delighted to announce the appointments of Stuart Millar as head coach and Gordon Wylde as first team coach.

The moves follow Director of Football, Neil Watt’s statement regarding the restructuring of the football department and the new roles created as a result.

Both men are, of course, well known to many Bully Wee fans having previously played for the club; Stuart from 1986 to 1989 and Gordon from 1991 to 1995.

44-year-old Stuart, currently chief scout and match assessor at Ross County, will commence in the role of head coach on May 16th after he completes his duties for the Dingwall club following the Scottish Cup Final. He will then immediately begin working towards the start of the 2010-11 campaign. As a widely respected figure in Scottish Football, with knowledge of the game at all levels, his appointment is extremely welcome to everyone at Broadwood.

Gordon, 45, is a similarly well-thought-of coach who has previous management experience with East Stirling. He was named as coach of the club’s under-19 side in January and the skill he displayed in that position confirmed how big an asset he will be to the first team squad.

Clyde chairman, John Alexander said, "This is the first of a number of long-term initiatives intended to secure a stable future for the club.

"On behalf of the Board I am delighted to welcome both Stuart and Gordon back to active duty with the first team and we look forward to their influence right across the club."

Comments from the new men will be published on www.clydefc.co.uk soon and both are also keen to meet fans face-to-face in the near future.
