2009-10 has been a difficult season overall for the Bully Wee, but it will still go down in history for a unique player achievement.

With video evidence appearing to show Willie Sawyers' opening goal against Peterhead crossing the line after just 8.75 seconds, it is fair to assume that he has scored the club's joint-fastest ever goal.

Clyde View contributor, Gordon Sydney has covered the topic in issue 13 of the programme. Coincidentally, this will go on sale on tonight as the re-arranged match against Stirling Albion finally goes ahead.

According to Gordon's research and club records available, Kenny Quinn is the current record holder for his goal against East Stirling at Douglas Park in 1993, also published at 9 seconds.

Many people at Broadwood on Saturday were remembering David Hagen's early strike against Raith Rovers in 2001... but at an official time of 16 seconds it has now been eclipsed as the quickest goal at Clyde's home.

Other contenders include Willie Watters, Tommy Ring and Brian Ahern... check out issue 13 for Gordon's full 'Top Ten'!

Another player who came close to entering the record books during the campaign is Kevin Higgins. He was aged 16 years and 312 days when he made his debut against Livingston in December, just missing the mark set by Connor Stevenson a year ago (16 years and 245 days).

As reported at the time of that Scottish Cup clash, he did, however, form part of what was the youngest ever Bully Wee side to take on a competitive match.

That theme continued on Saturday as Kevin and Connor, now 17, were part of a very youthful Clyde team that finished the match. They were joined by fellow academy product Steven Howarth (also 17), with a further six players being 23 or under.
