Young Star Goes East

Tue, 28th Apr 2009 9:22pm

Clyde youngster Jordan Morton has signed for Hearts. The Bully Wee youth, who is considered to have a great future in the game, agreed a deal with the Tynecastle club in the midst of attention from some other SPL sides.

As part of the agreement, Hearts will send their first team to play Clyde in a friendly at Broadwood prior to the 2009-10 season.

Jordan, 16, stepped up to a professional contract in January thanks to the backing of the Clyde Supporters’ Trust's Bully Wee Fund.

The forward had been watched by a number of top clubs from North and South of the border having featured for the reserve side on a regular basis as well as appearing in the recent Glasgow Cup tie against Celtic.

All at the club wish him every success for the future.

The news, coming in the same week as Connor Stevenson becoming the youngest ever Clyde player to make his senior debut for the Bully Wee, demonstrates the quality of young talent coming to fruition at Broadwood which augurs well for the future of the club.
