Fan-tastic Effort
On the eve of the formal launch of the Clyde Supporters’ Trust ‘Back the Bully Wee’ fundraising drive, all at Clyde have been greatly encouraged in the way that Scottish football fans have already rallied to the cause of the Bully Wee.
Supporters from all over the country have contacted the club and given money to help the Bully Wee. Among the first to donate was a Hibs fan and he was quickly followed by a football fan from Arbroath who stated in his letter, “I read of your financial plight last week which saddened me to see a team of this heritage in dire straits. I hope my donation is in some way helpful.”
Chairman of the Supporters’ Trust, John Alexander commented: “Even before we have formally launched our campaign our fans have been keen to assist us financially and we are truly thankful for that.
“It has also been fantastic that supporters from other clubs have wanted to help. There have been some tremendous gestures and it shows that we are not done for when people like this exist.
“We are extremely grateful for donations received to date. All monies will be ring-fenced by the Supporters’ Trust and used carefully to secure the future of the Bully Wee.”
