Morton 1 v 0 Clyde

Sat, 18th Oct 2008 6:07pm

It seemed inevitable that James Grady, making his debut for the Ton, would score today and his 37th minute strike turned out to be the winner.

Clyde set up in a 4-5-1 formation and were on the back foot for most of the first half, without the home side creating too many clear-cut chances. John Brown said after the match that he felt the assistant referee had missed Grady in a clear offside position before he raced away to score, giving Morton a half-time lead.

Ricky Waddell replaced Scott Gemmill at half-time as the Bully Wee assumed a more attacking line-up and Dave McKay had two chances to get an equaliser in a bright start.

However, the Ton 'keeper was put under little pressure during the remainder of the half as his team sat deep and looked to catch Clyde on the break.
