Clyde v Rangers

Tue, 22nd Jul 2008 12:12pm

The Bully Wee will be without three players for tonight's visit of the UEFA Cup finalists to Broadwood Stadium.

Dave McKay and new boys Ricky Waddell and Marc McCusker are still recovering from injuries and have yet to resume full training.

The club's other new signings - Stuart Kettlewell, Alan Trouten, Willie McLaren and Mark Brown - are all likely to feature though, giving Clyde supporters a first look at them on home soil.

John Brown said:-

"I appreciate some of our fans might not be too keen on the match but if we can get close to a full house it'll be good for the club and that's what we want.

"There will be a great atmosphere and the boys can learn from that as well as the quality of player they will be up against and also playing with.

"With the exception of the three injured players, we'll be utilising the full squad and it's a chance for them to show what they can do."

Chairman Ian Letham also spoke to the official website about the match:-

"I want to stress that this is a Clyde day first and foremost and is a vital part of the club's preparation for the season; in football and financial terms.

"Our players are really looking forward to the occasion. It's going to be a big test for them and also a chance for them to work alongside some top quality players for the day, which will be good for them.

"I'm in no doubts that the addition of the guest players has significantly increased the ticket sales and we're grateful to them for that."
