Dundee 2 v 0 Clyde

Sat, 29th Mar 2008 5:00pm

Clyde crashed to defeat against Dundee at Dens Park this afternoon. The Bully Wee now sink to 8th place, just ahead of 9th place Morton on goal difference.

The Clyde team, weakened by injury and illness, got off to the worst possible start as O'Brien netted in the 8th minute when he pounced after David Hutton parried a free-kick. Clyde struggled to create many chances to equalise before half-time, although two Jorg Albertz deliveries into the box could have resulted in goals.

The second period was similar, with John Brown's men struggling to make much impact on the home team's goal other than a Dave McKay effort that slipped past the post. Kevin McDonald wrapped up the points when he raced away and slotted past Hutton.

It certainly is shaping up to be a pivotal week in the relegation dogfight now, as Livi play their game in hand (against Queen of the South on Tuesday) before travelling to Broadwood next Saturday, while Morton host Dundee.
