Chairman’s Comments

Clyde’s new Chairman Ian Letham spoke first to www.clydefc.co.uk: “It’s been a hectic time since my appointment was announced and I have to say I’ve been surprised at the interest!”

The new man in charge left little doubt of where his priority lay: “My main aim is to produce a structure that supports Colin in the job that he is doing. I’ve already spent time with Colin working out exactly what he needs and now I need to deliver it.”

Ian continued, “We need to have an infrastructure in place that ensures the club works effectively. Unlike other clubs we do not have a big “money man” able to spend when it’s required; indeed you could say we are more like a co-operative.

“A crucial factor in all of this is providing the means to get the right posts in place, for example expanding our commercial activities or appointing a Chief Executive who can become the focal point for the day to day activities at the club. All of the Directors have got jobs which they need to attend to. Therefore, having someone in post who can be solely devoted to the club throughout the week is vital so we can get it right and take the Clyde forward.”

Ian concluded, “The next few weeks will be spent behind the scenes but what I assure the fans is that, through the website, I’ll keep them informed of the progress made and I’ll keep in touch on a regular basis.”

Ian will also be speaking on Revival Radio tonight. You can hear him on their ‘Football Friday’ Show. It kicks off at 7pm and you can listen on 100.8FM or online at http://revival.fm. Tune in to hear news and comment ahead of this weekend’s game.
