Points To Ponder
Long-standing Bully Wee supporter Bill Horton has been looking at Clyde’s record since entering the First Division in 2000 and thinks he has worked out a target for Colin Hendry to aim for during 2007/08.
He wrote to www.clydefc.co.uk as follows:-
Dear Editor,
How many points have Clyde accumulated over the last seven seasons in the First Division? A very respectable 399 points and that works out at an average of 57 points per season. So there’s a target for this season’s team under Colin Hendry!
These are the details broken down into the 9 game subsets…
2000/01: 14 + 10 + 7 + 16 = 47
2001/02: 11 + 12 + 14 + 12 = 49
2002/03: 12 + 19 + 18 + 23 = 72
2003/04: 14 + 20 + 19 + 16 = 69
2004/05: 20 + 12 + 18 + 10 = 60
2005/06: 12 + 18 + 12 + 13 = 55
2006/07: 9 + 17 + 13 + 8 = 47Total = 399
Looking forward to an enjoyable season and at least 57 points!
From a Clyde supporter since 1957 when George Herd (pictured) transferred to Clyde from Queen’s Park. What a forward line:
Herd – Currie – Coyle – Robertson – Ring
Bill Horton
Thanks for the e-mail Bill and we hope your wishes for the season come true, even if the forward line isn’t quite as glamorous!
