From Russia With Belov!

Many supporters will recognise Connor Gray, the young Bully Wee fan who was lucky enough to win a competition to be a 2006 World Cup Final mascot. With his mum being Russian, Connor is fluent in that language and immediately struck up a friendship with 9-year-old Sasha Belov from St.Petersburg – also a competition winner.

The two boys, who led out Zinedane Zidane and Willy Sagnol, still keep in touch by letter and e-mail and plans are being made to bring Sasha over to Scotland to see Clyde play at Broadwood.

Connor’s dad, Andy, sent the Official Website a picture (below) of Sasha in his Clyde top that he proudly wears to his local football training in the Russian city. Andy remarked that although Sasha’s dad, Sergey, only speaks a little English he enjoys a beer so they also get on well!

We look forward to seeing the Belov family at a Clyde match in the near future.
