At The Double!
He may only have been in the job for a few days but Colin Hendry has already set about making his mark at Broadwood, with one of his first changes showing that no detail will be missed in trying to improve the Club’s results.
On the family’s return to Scotland at the end of next week, this time permanently, Colin’s wife Denise will be in charge of house hunting as he continues the football work. However, the Manager explained to www.clydefc.co.uk that, in between talking to players and agents, he had already sorted out a “move” of his own.
On an introductory tour round the stadium, he noticed that the home technical area was on the opposite side of the pitch to the home dressing room… and Assistant Referee! In a break from tradition the dugouts will be swapped to avoid the two teams having to cross over each other before the action begins.
Colin commented, “I have come across this before, even at a few Premiership clubs, but I have always found it a bit unusual. Once we come out of the dressing room we’ll be completely focussed on the match and we should avoid any distractions with the opposition before kick-off.”
“When playing at home you need to take every advantage you can get, no matter how small or trivial it may seem, so for a couple of reasons we are going to change positions.”
