Trust Serves Up A Treat
Joe Miller has added his support to the annual Celebrity Sports Dinner on Friday 23rd March at the Holiday Inn, Bothwell Street, Glasgow. Tickets are still available and he urged all fans to come along and enjoy the occasion.
“It sounds like a great event and a lot of credit has to go to the organisers. Fundraising is never easy and the Supporters’ Trust are working hard to support the club. From the Bully Wee Fund, which has been critical in signing players and building this club up again, to special occasions like the celebrity dinner it certainly demands a lot of time and commitment.”
“I hope that people can get out and support the Celebrity Sports Dinner or better still get some of their colleagues or bosses to come along as well. I am sure they will enjoy a good night and one which will ultimately benefit the club and help us compete at the business end of the table next season.”
Hamish Brodie from the Trust agreed with Joe: “The night will be hosted by Bully Wee fan Dougie Donnelly with comedian Les Peters and top referee Kenny Clark also booked in to entertain the guests. The event takes place on the eve of the Scotland v Georgia match so there will certainly be an International theme to proceedings.”
The Sports Dinner is an important date in the Trust’s fundraising efforts. Hamish continued, “An event like this is vitally important. Tickets are priced £45 for Trust members and £60 for non-members. In addition, as a special offer to non-members a table of 10 can be purchased for £540. As a Trust we commit each year to donate money to the club and a night like this helps us greatly towards meeting our targets.”
“We have tried to keep the prices as competitive as possible. The dinner is also an opportunity for fans to contact their friends and work colleagues who may not come along to Broadwood but would be willing to attend an evening that will offer great entertainment.
“The more money that is raised the more money that we can give to the club and that can only be good news for strengthening the playing squad. So giving your support either by attending or by encouraging others to attend will make a great difference.”
Places at the dinner are still available and can be booked by contacting the Clyde Office on 01236 451511. Small or large groups are both more than welcome.
