Transfer Window Latest

Wed, 31st Jan 2007 8:00pm

The frantic activity of the transfer window is in full flow at the moment and Joe Miller spoke briefly to www.clydefc.co.uk: "It has been a hectic time. I think I've had to recharge my phone three times in the last 12 hours! We've been making a number of moves for players; some have not wanted to relocate, others are reliant on their clubs releasing them and of course throughout this I'm working to a budget which means some players are simply out of our reach."

Joe continued, "What I do want say to the fans is that I am not going to bring somebody in just to fill a jersey. We have had some bad results in January but we don't suddenly become a bad side. I do not want to jeopardise what we have here, which is a young and talented squad, by bringing in players who will not fit in with the others or our way of playing.

"Another factor that we need to consider is that we have 10 days until our next match and after midnight we can sign up players who are unattached and even have some options for loan deals.

"Don't get me wrong we are actively seeking a number of targets and I'm keen to conclude these as quickly as possible but not at any price."

The website understands that the club has made pre-contract offers to a couple of players and, amongst other deals, is also presently working on a couple of loan deals for players with substantial SPL experience.

www.clydefc.co.uk will keep you updated if any moves are concluded this evening...
