Cup Final Preview

48 years of waiting, 48 years of wanting, 48 years of opportunity and ultimately disappointment and now we will have our moment in Perth under the winter sun.

Clyde Football Club will embark upon our first cup final in 48 years.

Planes, trains and automobiles are bringing the Clyde faithful from far and wide. 23 buses are ferrying fans from the West of Scotland to Perth. It looks likely that nearly 3000 Clyde supporters will be in attendance if only the majority of those could come to Broadwood on a regular basis. It would transform the club but regardless Sunday will be a special day especially for those who have never witnessed Clyde at a Cup final.

Without a doubt, Clyde are in for a tough game at the weekend against Ross County and the Bully Wee will need to be at the top of their game. County may sit beneath Clyde in the Scottish First Division and suffered a defeat at Broadwood this season but in the cup that doesnt make one bit of difference. County have added some steel to their attractive style and have many players capable of turning the game in their favour.

Clyde can take confidence in their recent results and will be determined to continue their recent good form into the league in this showpiece occasion.

But what are the fans thinking about

Chris Dewar, 13, from Eastfield, Cumbernauld, says Well in my short life as a Clyde fan, I obviously haven't seen us winning a Cup, (bar the preseason tournament!) This cup final means everything to me

Being a Clyde fan, and going to a school where everyone is a Celtic fan, you get slaggings week in week out, if Clyde get beat on the Saturday, so to be in a cup final is just unreal.

Match Prediction? : 2-0 Clyde I think we'll go in as favourites and we'll win the cup Dougie and Eddie to score!

George Lennox, 23, From St. Georges Cross in Glasgow, says:

It's awesome to be in a cup final 48 years in the making! First cup final I've ever seen Clyde in. It's something I've been waiting for, for my whole life.

It would give us a boost to win it but we need to keep our feet on the ground. I think we can finish in the top half as much as I would like to see us as champions.

If we win I think we will be making a journey to Bar Bliss in Kirkintilloch. My friends and I have organised to celebrate there, if we win. It would be the greatest day of my life next to when we won the second division in 2000

Match Prediction: I think we should win 2-1, if not extra time and penalties. If we score I see Dougie and Eddie getting them, Dougie deserves it

Alan Ramsey, 36, originally from Moodiesburn now residing in
Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada won't be able to make Sundays match but will be following it from his house across the pond says:

Every game for me means that if we win then the team does good to keep the pressure on the other lot, and we at least finish in a good position.

If Clyde got the cup then it would be a great chance for the club as a whole to be taken notice of, and that at least we would come away with something from the season if nothing else.

If we win I will be celebrating with some Magners and my local pub in Canada that sells it! Maybe with a wee hangover and getting told to calm it from the wife!

Match Prediction: As long as it's a Clyde win! I do not care!

Whatever happens on Sunday win or lose, we should celebrate the achievements and have a toast for the boys who will give it their all.

On behalf of all Clyde supporters:

Good luck to Joe and the boys enjoy it and bring us back the cup!
