Clyde V Ross County Preview

By Grant McRae
Fri, 15th Sep 2006 12:00am

Clyde take on Highlander's Ross County this weekend as the Bully Wee look to gain their first league win of the season. Victory for Clyde would put them within a point of County but as Ross County edged past QoS last weekend and knocked Gretna out of the Challenge Cup the Dingwall side will be on a high.

Game To Remember - Clyde 2 v 2 Ross County - 04/10/03

Clyde hosted Ross County in what was a pulsating match between these two sides with the Broadwood side requiring a last minute equaliser to snatch a point. County's Rankin broke the deadlock midway through the first half but Clyde came back 8 minutes later when the ball fell to Stephen McConalogue who scored from about 16 yards.

Within minutes, though, County were ahead for a second time through a now familiar face: Stephen O'Donnell (pictured). O'Donnell hit a fierce close range shot which Halliwell saved with his chest but O'Donnell kept his composure and swept home the second. The second half did no tin truth live up to the first half and all the drama came in the dying seconds. In injury time, Jack Ross whipped in a ball that looked to be going wide but County defender McCunnie mishit his clearance into the back of the net. A lucky day for the Bully Wee but a fantastic point.
