Joe Miller spoke to the website on Monday evening and was looking forward to the game with Ayr. "It's a tournament that is much maligned but we're ignoring that criticism. We have had a stop start beginning to the season and the international break didn't help us."

"We've put together some good performances at various times in matches but we need to put it together for 90 minutes. Prior to the season starting everyone was telling me how we needed strikers but goal scoring hasn't been a problem it has been preventing them that has given us grief."

"On Tuesday I'm going to move things around as it can't continue. The squad will know the views of the fans if they let them down and I'm under no illusions of what the support will think of me if results don't improve."

The game looks like being too soon for Craig McKeown but apart from that Miller has a full squad to choose from to face an Ayr United side who have left their best performances to their cup outings.

The match will also mean a return of the popular former Clyde midfielder Robert Reilly (pictured) Reilly was an enthusaistic performer who rarely went through a match unnoticed. After spells with a number of clubs Robert turned his hand at coaching and has worked with Robert Connor as his assistant, putting into practice what he learnt of his former Bully Wee boss Craig Brown. The website is unaware if Robert will be wearing his trademark tight shorts!!!

Clyde have often struggled in midweek ties so noone is under any illusions as this match will require an excellent performance before the Bully Wee can have any dreams of securing a semi final place.
