Hamilton V Clyde

By Grant McRae
Thu, 7th Sep 2006 12:00am

Clyde travel to New Douglas Park still without a league win this season so will be keen to get maximum points at Hamilton on Saturday. It will be no easy task as Accies have responded well after a tricky start to the season.

The international break came directly after the clubs experienced different fortunes in the Challenge cup with Clyde progressing to the quarter finals and Hamilton exiting albeit at the hands of hot favourites Gretna.

So both teams will be glad to get back into league action on Saturday as Clyde tryi to kick start their season and Hamilton attempt to emphasis that their loss at Gretna was only a temporary relapse.

Game To Remember - Clyde 2 v 1 Hamilton - Broadwood Stadium - Saturday 20th November 2004

Clyde were searching for a win to add to their away victory at Accies' earlier in the season. In poor playing conditions, Clyde started on the back foot and it was Hamilton who opened the scoring on the 30 minute mark through Tunbridge. However, it only took the Bully Wee 7 minutes to equalise through midfielder Darren Sheridan. Loan signing Alex Walker made a great run down the flank to cross a superb ball into Sheridan who chested it and fired a great volley into the corner of the net.

It was a very quiet second half though with the only drama coming at the very end of the match. Substitute Craig Bryson was brought down just outside the 18 yard box to give Clyde a free-kick in a dangerous area. Gary Bollan whipped the ball in and John Potter bulleted a header into the net. The Clyde fans went wild. The referee restarted the match but blew the full-time whistle straight away to hand Clyde a dramatic victory.
