Clyde progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Challenge Cup with what turned out to be a comfortable victory over Montrose. The Bully Wee were made to work for the win but after Paul McHale opened the scoring in the 40th minute, the Clyde team grew in confidence.

Andy Ferguson got his first for the club on the hour mark though it was Dougie Imrie who stole the show with a great volley in the 90th minute that put the icing on the cake for an excellent win. Clyde's name is now in the hat for the next round alongside: Albion Rovers, Ayr United, Arbroath, Gretna, St Johnstone, Morton and Ross County.

Clyde started the stronger but after missing some half chances Montrose gained confidence. However as the half wore on, Clyde began once more to take the ascendency and deservedly took the lead albeit from the penalty spot.

62 mins GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 FERGUSON heads in at the back post after another corner by Malone

69 mins A great move involving McHale and Bryson ends when the ball is intercepted at the last moment from Arbuckles feet 6 yards out

73 mins McHale is in his element now as a 25 yarder is saved well at the post by the Montrose keeper

75 mins Ferguson header is ruled offside as it hits the net

78 mins Bradley and Hunter replace Arbuckle and Ferguson

85 mins Clyde relaxed now and a McCann shot is saved again by the keeper
