Getting Ready For The Gers!
Following two victories the Clyde squad are now focussing their attention to Saturday’s match against Rangers this weekend. It is the first match on Broadwood’s improved surface and the squad are keen to transfer their good form from their closed door matches to this their first public outing.
Last season Clyde’s squad grabbed the headlines with a series of excellent performances culminating in the defeat of SPL Champions Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Earlier in the season, the Bully Wee stretched Rangers to extra time in the League Cup at Ibrox and the Glasgow giants will be looking to assert their authority quicker this time.
Paul Le Guen has stated his intention of creating a leaner squad this time so coach Ian Durrant emphasised that the players chosen to represent Rangers on Saturday will be very much in their plans for the on coming season so the Bully Wee are certainly in for a competitive test.
The Clyde team of course will lack the surprise element of last season but are taking confidence in the fact that they are one year older, wiser and physically stronger. All the players will be out to prove this to the Bully Wee fans at the weekend as the new season gets closer. Indeed Craig Bryson (pictured left) will be keen to maintain his 100% scoring record against the Old Firm.
On the day Clyde supporters will of course be able to purchase a variety of the new lotto merchandise and will also get the chance to welcome back former stars Peter Boyle and Dom Sullivan who will be guests of the club for the eagerly awaited match.
