Clyde 1 V 0 Airdrie United

Clyde gathered maximum points this afternoon after a first half Michael McGowan goal ensured a victory that left visitors Airdrie United scratching their heads in disbelief. Despite creating the better openings in the first period, Clyde never looked comfortable and their flowing passing game never emerged.

In the second half Airdrie United gained the ascendancy and the Diamonds will be wondering why they never managed to get a goal as they hit the woodwork twice and Robert Harris cleared the ball off the line late on. To give the Bully Wee youngsters' credit however, they defended in numbers and still created chances. However it wasn't a match that showcased their skills, more a demonstration of their spirit as they held firm to grab the victory.

Clyde will be delighted with the result, especially as they are set for two tough away trips in early December but after the injustice of the last home game at Broadwood the old adage about luck evening itself out has seldom semmed more appropriate. Full report now on site.
