Business As Usual

“It will be business as usual this week in preparation for Saturday’s match against Hamilton Academcal.” Those were the words of Clyde’s Assistant Manager Joe Miller. “Every week we want to see the guys improve and enjoy their training. This week will be no exception.”

During the short break, Clyde took the opportunity to play against East Stirlingshire and Joe chatted about the game. “The key aim was to keep our sharpness and to help the players on the fringes of the first team to have an opportunity to impress and gain match fitness.”

“It also gave the players a chance to play in the system that Graham and I want. Barring injury we wanted to give these lads a full 90 minutes and they got that. All the boys did well with Kevin Bradley scoring the only goal in the 1-0 victory. Before you ask I didn’t play after all!”

“I appreciate it has been difficult for these lads,” Joe continued. “We have been consistent in our first team selections so far and we don’t have a big enough squad to play reserve games on a regular basis, so the game last Thursday was important for them and nobody did themselves any harm.”
