Ross County 3 V 1 Clyde

Sat, 6th Aug 2005 12:00am

Clyde's chances of taking anything from this always difficult fixture were made even more challenging by the loss of two goals in the first ten minutes.

The Bully Wee went behind as early as the second minute when County's John Rankin left fly with a twenty-yard strike then six minutes later Alex Burke hit home from a Stuart Taylor knock-down.

Clyde pulled one back in the thirty-first minute when Craig Bryson (pictured) took advantage of some slack defending to drill home.

Two-one down at half time, but Clyde's recovery hopes were hit again when the home team restored their two goal twelve minutes into the second period when Sean Higgins scored from close range.

The other First Division results were:
Brechin City 1 Hamilton Academical 2
Dundee 3 St. Mirren 2
St. Johnstone 4 Queen of the South 0
Stranraer 1 Airdrie United 0

Clyde's attention now turns to Third Division Montrose in the CIS Cup on Tuesday.
