Backing The Trust

Graham Roberts was back at the helm at Broadwood today following last week's attendance at the SFA Training course at Murray Park. It certainly is a busy time for Clyde's new boss as he finalises details for Clyde's preseason friendlies and works hard to put together a squad that can challenge the best in next season's First division.

Graham is of course looking forward to Wednesday night's Open Forum but the gaffer has already demonstrated his commitment to working with supporters by spending time with the Clyde Supporters Trust board.

Graham was enthusiastic about of the work of the Trust to date and was happy to endorse the Bully Wee Fund (BWF). The Fund which was crucial in keeping internationalist Craig Bryson at the club is an initiative organised by the Clyde Supporters' Trust which began in October 2004.

It has the potential to directly improve Clyde FC's fortunes on the pitch and enhance our relationship with the wider community by maintaining and improving the quality of the product on the pitch. Its aim is simple - to put money into a ring-fenced pot that will ONLY be used to maintain and improve the quality of player Graham Roberts has available to him.

The BWF will follow the generic model that has worked so well at many clubs south of the border. It will now be up to the Manager to apply for use of the ring-fenced money as and when he sees fit. Graham Roberts was briefed on the scheme and was happy to endorse it.

Roberts was emphatic, "It seems like a great way for supporters to put money straight into an area of the Club they know will make a difference. I'm delighted to be able to call upon the Trust when the need arises and would like to thank all the people that contribute."

Further information can be found on the Clyde Supporters Trust website on http://www.clydetrust.org/bullyweefund.htm

or by attending the first Fans' Forum of season 2005/06 on Wednesday night, where Trust representatives will welcome any questions.
