Close Season? What Close Season?!

Wed, 18th May 2005 12:00am

For many people involved in football, the end of the season signals the prospect of an immediate holiday abroad or at the very least a well-deserved break a bit nearer home.

No such luck for commercial staff at the country's forty-two senior clubs, Clyde's Jack Rolland included.

"This is in many ways is our busiest time," explains Jack. "We are chasing up hospitality bookings, approaching our existing customers and looking hard for new ones. It's the same story with match sponsors and match ball sponsors. The plan is to get as much of this business consolidated before the season starts.

The advent of a completely new Commercial section - "Commercial Opportunities" - on the official website could therefore not have been better timed from Jack's point of view.

"These new pages are dedicated to the complete range of commercial opportunities provided by Clyde F.C. and although some of the pages are still being developed I'm sure supporters will be pleasantly surprised by the extent of what we do.

"The Club now receives significant commercial revenues from sponsorship, advertising and a variety of hospitality packages to suit most tastes. It's my job to increase these figures, year-on-year.

"My main aim as Commercial Manager is to achieve steady sustained progress in each one of Clyde's commercial activities. The addition of these web pages will certainly assist me in my job of marketing everything we do commercially at Broadwood to the widest possible audience.

Jack added that he will be more than pleased to explain any of the commercial packages to anyone who requires further information. He can be contacted on 01236 451511.
