Cumbernauld's growing affiliation with Clyde was further demonstrated this week when local Ladbrokes manager Arlhene Carson placed a free £100 bet in the name of the Bully Wee for Saturday's Grand National.

Club captain John Potter and Eddie Malone were there to see the bet placed. Commenting in the Cumbernauld News Arlhene said, "We did it last year and we decided to do it again to help Clyde out." The horse that has the responsibility to win for the Clyde is "Take the Stand" and is 18/1 in the betting at present.
