Billy'S Spanish Ayes

Billy Reid today confirmed newspaper reports that Clyde are interested in signing Spanish defender Miguel Angel Espinola (pictured left). The thirty year old, who played last season for Spanish Second Division side Algeciras, can play in a traditional right back role or as a wing back.

I've been in contact with a Spanish agent for a while," Billy stated, "and a few names had been mentioned but this is the one that has worked out. He has trained with us and has looked ok but I'll get a better idea next week when we start to do heavier work as due to our match schedule training has been very light."

"It is costing the club nothing," Billy confirmed, "and allows us to keep our options open and with suspensions coming up it is the ideal time. It is certainly a case of nothing ventured nothing gained and here's hoping it works out well for both us and the player."
