The latest news from Broadwood today is that John Potter is staying with Clyde, thanks in a major part to the Bully Wee Fund. The unique supporters' fundraising package that puts the money raised from the fans directly towards Billy Reid's playing budget has scored another success. In November the fund extended the contract of Craig Bryson and now it has assisted greatly in securing the services of captain John Potter for the Club until the end of the season.

"It appears that John is ready to commit to the Club and we've now agreed terms", a delighted Billy Reid spoke to the website this afternoon.

Potter was out of contract at the end of this month and for a time it looked possible that he might leave. Billy continued: "John was magnificent at the weekend and again showed how committed he is to the Club. It is a tremendous boost to us all. John is a great captain and leads by example."

"If it was up to me I'd sign all the guys at the moment," Billy commented. "Our major competitors are St Mirren and they've managed to sign four of their existing players on longer-term deals and bring in Stewart Kean from Ayr. Sadly we can't do that but nevertheless I'm delighted that we have now got John ready to commit to the Club".
