Striking Form

Billy Reid spoke today about the form of Aron Wilford. "I understand the disappointment of the fans and appreciate that they have been very supportive towards him during his dip in form. Aron has a lot more to give and is obviously very down about his form at present".

Against St Mirren, Wilford fell out of the starting line up and subsequently Clyde lacked a physical presence in their forward line.

"We wanted to give Mark Gilhaney a chance up front, " Billy continued, "and hope that his pace would unsettle Andy (Millen) and Kevin (McGeown) but we introduced Aaron later on to add his weight and height in the latter stages of the game".

"Aron is still relatively young and it is his first full season in senior football but he is no different from many other players in the squad. Sometimes in football the manager is powerless and it is up to the player. He still has to show a true reflection of his talent and I am looking forward to him working hard and demonstrating to the fans the skills that he possesses".

Certainly Aron will be keen to play against Airdrie as so far he has scored in each of our games against our Lanarkshire rivals. So here's hoping the 6ft 3" centre forward can make it a hat trick on Saturday.
