Billy’S Gamble Pays Off!

Clyde boss Billy Reid spoke of his relief after his Saturday gamble. “I took a risk. Although we had a settled side and there is the adage of never change a winning team I felt that we had to break with that tradition”.

Billy continued: “Raith was a banana skin of a game. A new manager was in place and even though we were the bookies’ overwhelming favourites we knew that we had a tough test. We decided therefore to alter things and to put out a squad that would threaten and take the game to Rovers. We just did not know how they would play so we had to concentrate on our own efforts and that we did superbly especially in the first half. We took our goals well and shut up shop in the second half. We deserved the three points and that keeps the pressure on Falkirk and sets us up for Firhill.”
