Reid All About The Accies Game

Mon, 20th Sep 2004 12:00am

Billy Reid talked to the Website's Cammy Macdonald after Saturday's match at New Douglas Park.

"It was important after two defeats that we were able to bounce back. I thought the boys did well and some of their football was really good, especially in the second half and we should have scored more goals.

"Accies threw caution to the wind and came at us early doors but they really only had a Paddy Keogh effort that hit the bar while we continually cut them open but didn't have any luck.

"It is slightly different playing on astroturf but we trained on it to get used to the surface and I thought we coped with it pretty well.

"I have said all along that I need my experienced players as I have a young side and a lack of experience does cause problems as we found out last week. Darren Sheridan did come back in and I think we saw the difference. He just has the ability to put his foot on the ball and that is invaluable for the kids to see.

"Scott Wilson has come in and done well enoguh to command a first team place so am very pleased. It will take a while for Mickael Marsiglia to adjust to the Scottish game. It is probably different from what he is used to, but he'll have to learn in the weeks to come. He hadn't played for six or seven weeks prior to the Hamilton game but I am quite sure we will see an improvement.
