Reid All About Stranraer

Billy Reid spoke to the website's Cammy Macdonald after the Stranraer cup tie

"We had four players making their debut tonight, but as you know we have a big game on Saturday. Without being disrespectful to either the Bell's Cup or to Stranraer Football Club I thought it was important to rest some of our players, and give some of the young players a chance.

"I will take a 1-0 win every week even though at times tonight it was not pretty. But we made seven changes from Saturday and it took a while to get going. Jean Louis Valois came in, took a while to get into his stride but you saw at the end he has class and it was a fantastic goal. However, he does need games.

"I keep saying that, bit it's not only about the French players. My team is working hard for me and we have had another clean sheet tonight.

"I would loved to have kept Karim here but I can't afford to pay his wages. We are not a big enough club for that, but Karim goes with our blessing.

"The idea tonight was to keep the 100% record going as we did not want a rot to set in. We wanted to keep the run going and keep winning. The players at the back tonight were exceptional and their attitude has been tremendous so far. The players have given everything and that's all you can ask.

"I am very happy with the players I have and I've no real preference about who we get drawn against in the next round.
