Airdrie United 0 V 1 Clyde

Tue, 24th Aug 2004 12:00am

Watched by a crowd of 1595, Clyde moved through to the third round of the CIS Cup tonight at New Broomfield with a 1-0 win over near neighbours Airdrie United.

The Bully Wee's chances of advancement in the S.F.L's main cup competition appeared to improve in the twentieth minute when Airdrie United's McKeown was sent off but the tie remained goal-less after forty-five minutes, as Airdrie's attempts to frustrate the more attack-minded visitors proved successful.

Clyde's perseverance eventually paid off in the seventy-third minute when Aron Wilford (pictured) made it two goals in two matches to give the Bully Wee a 1-0 lead and that's how it finished.
