Ian Harty Is Staying With Clyde

Mon, 2nd Aug 2004 12:00am

With less than a week to go before the start of the new season, Manager Billy Reid today moved to end the uncertainty which has surrounded star striker Ian Harty in recent weeks.

The outcome of what was described as a "clear the air" meeting is a declaration by the player, naturally unsettled by the continuing transfer speculation, that he wishes to remain at Broadwood.

"We had a really good discussion today," stated Billy Reid. "I think we were both pleased with what each other said. We shook hands at the end. I'm absolutely delighted that Ian has intimated that he wishes to stay with Clyde. Every player has his price and neither Ian nor Clyde had any choice but to give careful consideration to the offers which have been submitted in the last few weeks. At no point did I want to lose him. I'm sure the fact that Ian is staying will be great news for all Clyde fans."
